Congratulations Graduate!

Hello Crafters and welcome to my little blog.
I'm back to share my make for Dies R Us  today.
Here's  a golden "Congratulations" card for a graduate.

Congrats CARD STEPS
First, create yourself a card base in the shape of your Star Card Panel die.
Then- Die-Cut 2 extra panels (these will be used to cover the front and back of your card).
Save some of the smaller die-cut stars from these panel cuts. You will use these as embellishing accents later.

Die-Cut your Congrats word 4 times (2 in plain heavy Cardstock and 2 in Mirror Gold Cardstock).
Also cut 4 stars as shown, then adhere all cuts together and layered as shown on finsihed card.

 optional step
Die-cut 2 extra panels to cover the back side of your card (this gives your card more strength making it sturdy - and a clean finished look. I cut one in plain cardstock then another in Gold for look,

Happy Mother's Day

A Mother's Day Card Challenge
Here is my sparkly take...

I've used a collection of shimmery papers by Paper-Garden. They cut beautifuly and come in various weights. And oooh- isn't this lace cutting die border by Sue Wilson just so lovely? :)

The lacey look was created by cutting out the lace die border multiple times then layering it twice for depth, then backing it with various purple papers for an "hombre" effect look.

A Golden Happily Ever After...

The wonderful folks at In2Craft, based in the UK, have challenged me to create with the fabulous Sue Wilson Frames and Tags Isobel cutting die.... Here is what I came up with...

A mostly ALL GOLD Happily Ever After ...

same card, but in different lighting to show off the intricate die-details
Card Recipe
Stamps: none
Paper: Heavy Gold Wrapping Paper (backed with spray adhesive for added weight), Cream CS
Paper Size: 5x6
Ink: none
Accessories: Gold Flat-back Pearls, Pearl beads (for flower centers) & the following Cutting Dies by Sue Wilson; Frames & Tags Isobel (from Sue's April release), Special Occasion Collection Ornate Framed Happily Ever After, Finishing Touches Delicate Fronds & Exquisite Poppy Die set.
Techniques: Multi-Layering

A little TUTORIAL on creating die-shaped cards...
Hope the pictures are self-explanatory, but if not, here's the typed version too: SImply run your die through your die-cutting machine as normal, but use a folded piece of cardstock instead of a single sheet. Then place this folded card under the die leaving the die just slightly off the card's edge. Then run it through and die-cut it according to your machine's die-cutting sandwich plate instructions. This will give you a card fold in the same shape of your die. Then die-cut another 2 panels in full die size and adhere one to the card base and the other one behind the card base. You end up with fun card bases in the shapes of your dies! Hope this makes sense and that you'll give it a try!

Best Wishes City Skyline

Hello and welcome back!  I have a "Best Wishes" circular card to share today. It features Sue Wilson's fabulous City skyline dies.

This is for someone moving away to a another city.
The card came together quickly after die-cutting.
A gold ribbon was added as a finishing touch.
The card-base edges are inked with versamark then heat embossed w/gold glitter embossing powder.
The moon above the city skyline was dry embossed for texture.

CARD RECIPE
Stamps - None
Ink: Versamark (for heat embossing card base edges)
Paper: Vintage World Travel Wallpaper (for background), Cream CS (for base) Navy Blue Textured CS and Gold Wrapping paper (adhered to white CS for weight).
Accessories; Gold Ribbon, Gold Glitter Embossing Powder, Embossing Folder (for moon texture),  and the following cutting dies by Sue Wilson; Perspectives Triple Best Wishes Dies, Circle Scenes Collection City Skyline Dies.
Techniques: Dry Embossing, Wet Embossing, Layering

America's Helpful TIPS and TRICKS
I have loads & loads of patterned papers, but I also have loads of vintage wallpaper rolls that I have collected over the years. I love the textures and variety you can get from these and tend to find the most fabulous patterns in rolls at goodwills & thrift shops. They are so perfect for papercrafting - just simply use a strong spray adhesive (from home depot) and spray behind wallpaper pieces then adhere to any plain cardstock for added weight. You will have rolls and rolls of fabulous unusual patterned paper designs that you won't feel bad about cutting through or using. (like we do with our pricey lovely papers that we otherwise tend to not use.) LOL. - just sayin'...
These are the die-cuts adhered and layered together for dimension then placed over card base.
